The gates open wide

Hanover is the capital of Lower Saxony and certainly not a small city with more than half a million inhabitants. You'll find plenty of fun attractions in the atmospheric old town at Ballhofplatz and nice spots on the banks of the Leine. That's why Hanover feels so relaxed. And yet group matches of the 1974 and 2006 World Cup tournaments and the 1988 European Championship tournament were played here in the imposing Niedersachsenstadion. For 2024, the Hannover Pokal is then on the football calendar. The tournament will not take place at the stadium but a little further away at two beautiful sports parks where the gates will open wide for the youth of Europe.
