International competition

Around 200 teams from 12 countries: now that's an international competition. With the Holland Cup, it's clear to see that football really is a world sport. Whether you're from Scotland or Italy, whatever language you speak - everyone shares the same passion. So get involved in the new edition! You'll be warmly welcomed in Almere, close to Amsterdam. The international competition takes place across four beautiful sports parks around the centre of Almere. And if you want to blow off a little steam, you can visit the nearby Johan Cruijff ArenA, the home grounds of Ajax or the famous centre of Amsterdam. It'll be a thrilling Easter weekend..

Sport facilities

The Holland Cup is played at the 4 modern sports venues of the organising teams, which are located close to the centre of Almere. Each sports park has at least 5 pitches. Futhermore, each location has a lovely club house with changing rooms, showers and a large canteen with a terrace. By car, you can get to the Johan Cruijff ArenA within half an hour from the sports parks. There, you have fantastic park and ride (P&R) facilities so you can then take the metro or tram to Amsterdam city centre.

 

About the organiser

The Holland Cup is organised by FC Almere, AS'80, ASC Waterwijk and Sporting Almere. These clubs have a combined total of 300 youth teams and 6000 members. Each sports park has at least 5 pitches. Furthermore, each location has a lovely club house with changing rooms, showers and a large canteen with a terrace. The Amsterdam ArenA is half an hour's drive by car from the sports parks. From there, you can make use of the fantastic park and ride (P&R) facilities and take the metro or tram to Amsterdam city centre.

Touristic information

Almere

Almere (200,000 inhabitants) was built on reclaimed land and is the fastest growing city in the Netherlands. It is located just 20 km from Amsterdam, on the opposite side of the IJmeer lake. By train it takes just 20 minutes to reach the centre of Amsterdam. But there's no need to take the train if you want to shop, as Almere has one of the largest shopping centres in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. You'll never get tired of it. The city is known for its historic canals, picturesque and often ancient buildings, the many museums, shopping streets, the many markets, the fascinating nightlife. The Anne Frank House, the Kalverstraat, the Dam, the Leidseplain, the Vondelpark - they're all fantastic sights. Johan Cruijff ArenA

The Johan Cruijff ArenA is the football stadium of Ajax. It is also one of the largest multifunctional stadiums in Europe, where all the greatest artists in the world have performed.
