Touristic information

Cologne

The city of Cologne, with 1 million residents, is located about 50 kilometres from the Dutch border. The city was built in a crescent around the famous Cologne Cathedral, a powerful Gothic cathedral that can be seen everywhere in Cologne. The main shopping streets are in a wide strip to the south of the central station. In Cologne's 'old town' you'll find many cosy bars and clubs.

Kölner Breweries

When in Cologne you simply cannot miss out on the local Kölsch beer. There are various breweries in the city. Visitors have the opportunity to visit a number of them on the Kölner Brauhaus Wanderweg (the Cologne Brewery Walk). This is a lovely route through the city and, of course, you can sample the wonderful Kölsch beer.

RheinEnergie Stadium

The RheinEnergie Stadium with capacity for 50,000 spectators is home to 1.  FC Köln. The stadium was completely renovated between 2002 and 2004. Numerous games were played here during the 2006 World Cup. Curious? Then take a tour.
