A special experience
Mönchengladbach is a well-known name among football fans. The pride of the city, Borussia Mönchengladbach, has long been one of the major players in the Bundesliga. The Mönchengladbach Pokal is held not far from Borussia-Park stadium. However, the cup is not contested in a 60,000-seater stadium – participants instead enjoy the jovial atmosphere of a cosy sports park. There is even a church in the background. The tournament is a joint project run by Fortuna Mönchengladbach and Sportfreunde Neuwerk, which each run a sports complex in friendly, green surroundings. As such, the host and guests alike understand each other well. It is a truly special experience.
