De magie van internationaal voetbal
Al sinds de start in 1994, heeft de Blackpool Cup altijd een brede internationale deelname gekend. Ieder jaar weer telt het deelnemersveld rond tien nationaliteiten. Naast de vaste deelname uit Engeland, Schotland, Ierland, Wales en Noord Ierland, melden er zich jaarlijks ook nog eens vijf nationaliteiten van het continent. Het geheim? Ieder team heeft zo zijn eigen afweging: de een gaat echt voor de internationale competitie, de ander toch ook wel voor de attracties van Blackpool en weer een ander wil iets meekrijgen van de magie van voetbal iconen als Manchester United en FC Liverpool. Ieder maakt zijn eigen afweging maar inmiddels is de Blackpool Cup wel uitgegroeid tot een echte voetbalklassieker.

Sportfaciliteiten
De Blackpool Cup wordt gespeeld op de parken van de befaamde Myerscough College en Uclan Sports Arena in Preston. Myerscough Sports Academy heeft 7 velden, kleedkamers, een kantine, en diverse kiosken met snacks. De Uclan Sports Arena heeft 10 velden en een restaurant: ‘the Final Whistle’. Beide toernooilocaties liggen op ongeveer 30 minuten rijden van Blackpool.
Over de organisator
De Blackpool Cup wordt georganiseerd door de Sir Tom Finney FC. Deze club biedt kinderen en volwassenen met diverse achteronden de kans om compeititevoetbal te spelen. De club heeft 14 jeugd-, 2 senioren-, één dames- en een gehandicapten team in competitie.

50 kilometres away from Blackpool is Old Trafford football stadium, home to Manchester United. Whether you're a fan or not, true football fans won't want to miss this stadium. Pleasure Beach & Sandcastle Waterpark
Pleasure Beach on the Ocean Boulevard in Blackpool is a gigantic ‘amazement park’ with no less than 145 attractions, including 12 rollercoasters. One of the rollercoasters is the biggest and fastest in England. So can you get in? Tournament participants get a discount on the price of entry to Pleasure Beach.
Sandcastle Waterpark is the largest indoor waterpark in England. This tropical pool paradise boasts several swimming pools, a wave pool and thrilling water slides like the Masterblaster and Thunderfalls Waterslide.
