International handball tournament: Thanks to the Berlin Handball Cup, handball has become an integral part of Berlin. The programme is mostly held at the immense ‘Sportforum Berlin Hohenschönhausen” in the eastern part of Berlin, 15 trolley-minutes away from the city centre. Its 55 hectares make the Sportsforum the largest sport complex in Europe. It offers a wide range of facilities, including three halls with stands for thousands of spectators. In short, a perfect location for an international event. It will be really exciting because after the games, there is an exciting city centre to be discovered.

SV BVB 49 is an omni sports club with 800 members. About 150 of them play handball, while the rest practice sports like football, tennis, athletics, volleyball and table tennis. The first ladies’ team competes in the second Bundesliga. Although this ladies team plays at a high level, the character of the club has a social nature and concentrates on club-life on a wide basis.
