Those who like a hefty competition will feel right at home in this international handball tournament in Esbjerg, Denmark. This is what the participants of the Vesterhavs Cup can count on. Lovely accommodation is available near the beach where people can play handball, eat and sleep. A formula that is a great success every year. And with regard to the party: there will be about 2,000 visitors, so no problems in this area! Whitsun in Esbjerg consists of a weekend filled with sport, excitement and enjoyment. This is because the handball tournament is part of an international sports festival that also includes football. The festival begins with an opening ceremony at the sports complex. After the sporty activities there is a huge disco on Saturday night – always a real hit among participants. The festival ends on Sunday night with a festive prize distribution.

The Vesterhavs Cup is organised by Sædding-Guldager IF (SGI). The club was established in 1971 and has 5,000 members and 7 different sports. The handball section has 500 members and 34 junior teams. In 2000, the Danish Handball Federation named it the ‘Children Handball Club’ of the year. This was a recognition of the club for its many activities and immense involvement in handball for children. SGI plays its home games in the Guldager Idræts Center, which has 2 sport halls.
