Founded in 1967, it now has more than 1,900 members and offers eleven different sports. The football division has 18 teams in competition and the flagship, the 1st team, is on the 4th level of Germany, in the Regionalliga Bayern.

The München Pokal takes place in Heimstetten (7,000 inhabitants) about 10 kilometres east of Munich. From the sports location the centre of Munich can be reached within half an hour. The beautiful sports park of SV Heimstten e.V. is less than one kilometre from the village centre.
