This brand-new complex - home to the regional SønderjyskE handball team, among others - has everything you need on site for an enjoyable, active weekend of handball. Alongside the 3 handball pitches surrounded by stands, the multifunctional sports and leisure centre features e.g. an indoor swimming pool and a range of recreational facilities. Want to explore the area a bit? The lively centre of Aabenraa, located within walking distance of the arena, boasts one of the longest shopping streets in Denmark.

The Aabenraa Arena is the main location of the Sønderjyske Handball Cup. This brand new sportshall opens ist doors at the end of 2017 and will be the main tournament location for the Sønderjyske Handball Cup. The Arena has a capacity for 1800 spectators and 3 handball pitches. Furthermore the Arena has a cafetaria/restaurant, several dressing rooms and an outdoor playground at its disposal. The other sports hall (Lojt Idraetsforening where the tournament takes place are in an area of 15 minutes drive from the Aabenraa Arena.

Rødekro-Aabenraa Handball is a merger club between the local clubs Rødekro and Sydstjernen. Both clubs exist already for almost 100 years. Rødekro-Aabenraa Handball has a strong youth department and thei main goal is to educate and develop young handball players. And not without success! The first ladies team of Sønderjyske are playing on a high level in Denmark. With more than 300 youth members the club is one oft he biggest handball clubs in their region.

Aabenraa
Aabenraa (16,000 inhabitants) is a port city in south Jutland, on the Aabenraa fjord, around 20 kilometres from the German border. The hilly landscape surrounding the city features beech forests, small lakes and bays with lovely sandy beaches. In the city's old quarter you'll find typical 18th century craftsmen's houses and, as previously mentioned, a long, vibrant shopping centre.
