Die Magie des internationalen Fußballs
Der Blackpool Cup hat bereits seit seiner Erstauflage im Jahr 1994 ein breit gefächertes internationales Teilnehmerfeld. Jedes Jahr nehmen etwa zehn verschiedene Länder teil. Neben der festen Teilnahme von Vereinen aus England, Schottland, Irland, Wales und Nordirland melden sich Jahr für Jahr auch fünf weitere Nationen zum Blackpool Cup an. Was das Geheimnis ist? Die Beweggründe der Teams sind ganz unterschiedlich: Manchen geht es hauptsächlich um den internationalen Wettkampf, andere wiederum möchten den berühmten Freizeitpark besuchen oder einfach nur die Magie der legendären Clubs Manchester United und FC Liverpool erleben. Wie dem auch sei, der Blackpool Cup hat sich im Laufe der Jahre zu einem wahren Fußball-Klassiker entwickelt.

Der Blackpool Cup wird in den Sportparks des bekannten Myerscough College und der Uclan Sports Arena in Preston ausgetragen. Die Myerscough Sports Academy verfügt über 7 Spielfelder, Umkleideräume, eine Kantine und verschiedene Kioske mit Snacks. Die Uclan Sports Arena nutzt wiederum 10 Spielfelder und ein Restaurant wartet auf seine Besucher: ‘The Final Whistle’. Beide Turnierstandorte liegen etwa 30 Autominuten von Blackpool entfernt.
Über den Organisator
Austragungsort sind die beiden Traumanlagen Myerscough Sports Academy und Preston Sports Arena. Beide Sportanlagen werden den hohen Standards des internationalen Fußballs mehr als gerecht. Das Turnier wird mit einer feierlichen Eröffnungszeremonie eröffnet und mit einer offiziellen Siegerehrung abgeschlossen. Pleasure Beach & Sandcastle Waterpark
Pleasure Beach on the Ocean Boulevard in Blackpool is a gigantic ‘amazement park’ with no less than 145 attractions, including 12 rollercoasters. Sandcastle Waterpark is the largest indoor waterpark in England. This tropical pool paradise boasts several swimming pools, a wave pool and thrilling water slides like the Masterblaster and Thunderfalls Waterslide.
