The home of Sepp Herberger

Are you a lover of historic towns and castles? Then Weinheim and Viernheim are the perfect places for you. Both towns boast idyllic locations just north of famous Heidelberg. Weinheim is on the 'Bergstrasse', a famous tourist route along the vineyards. Hard-core enthusiasts will know that Sepp Herberger, famous coach of the German national side, lived here. However, for all football fans there is another special reason to visit the town: the Bergstraßen Pokal. For the inaugural tournament in 2019, almost 80 teams from five countries signed up for an extensive competition involving six matches over one weekend. Of course, that doesn't leave much time to visit a castle, but if you want to, you definitely can.
